San Pancho CommunityIn the small town of San Pancho it costs $600 USD
 for a child to go to a public school for the year. This money goes towards uniforms, school supplies, etc. EntreAmigos, the local community center has put together a scholarship program that enables children in San Pancho to attend school. The scholarship program not only provides materials and uniforms to verified needy students, but also additional learning opportunities through extra-curricular classes and activities at the community center.

This year, the Tailwind jungle lodge is supporting the scholarship program by raising money with a raffle event. Individuals can contribute to the scholarship program by purchasing a raffle ticket. 3/4 of the money raised will go to the scholarship program and the remaining 1/4 of the money will go to the lucky winner!

San Pancho Community

Throughout our development, the Tailwind jungle lodge has created a strong relationship with the local San Pancho community. In the past few years the lodge has:

  • Hosted kids in the jungle days and created an interpretive nature trail.
  • Hosted sustainability workshops and discussions.
  • Donated adventure tours to auction fundraisers for the local community.
  • Annually donated 1 % of our profits to local non-profits.
  • Tailwind employees have volunteered during community workdays, at the community center and in the community garden.
  • Hosted potluck dinners for local San Pancho people and encourage connection and relationship between business owners and residents.
